DUTCH DESIGN PROFILES

Willem van der Sluis is a product designer! His design is widely ranged around repetition and rhythm, resulting in modular clusters and efficient systems that are easy to use, easy to transport and also easy to transform. He would often ask him self questions like, does the world really need yet another lamp? and if so, how can these designs add value, something different, new feature or functionality to exciting designs.

The Sportdomes DJI

The mission was to create an outdoor space for the prisoners at the prison boats in Zaandam. The creating of the dome was a process of finding a solution between the demands of justice and living up to the needs of the prisoners. The space had to be easily built and easily dismantle, prisoners had to be able to see the outside world but it had to be sure that outsiders wouldn’t recognize the prisoner’s.
