ALMA A SHORT FILM

Alma is Rodrigo Blaas’ first short film as a director. Originally from Spain, Rodrigo Blaas has worked in animation for more than ten years, in Spain and in the United States.

Seizing the possibility of directing his first independent short film, Rodrigo Blaas asked some of the best artists in their field to take part in this independent project: French animator Bolhem Bouchiba, character designer Carlos Grangel and Sergio Pablos, ArtDirector Alfonso Blaas, music composer Mastretta and sound designer Tom Myers.

BrainstormOverload Winter Solstice Card

Winter Solstice has been celebrated by many cultures for many thousands of years. And why not – it’s a big deal. What better occasion to gather together and find comfort in our connections with friends and family than the longest night of the year? Modern life often finds us far from our relations which is why sending a card is such a nice tradition. The time it takes to create, write and subsequently read brings us closer to one another. Granted it’s not quite the same as an all night, star-gazing, bonfire amidst the megaliths but it’s a nice bit of ceremony none the less.

This Modern Russian industrial piece is a inspiration to all designers, if not it has to become one. I love the curviture and opening and closing tops. With design cues taken from mid-century furniture, this table combines aesthetic value with storage functionality. Combine it with other wooden pieces to create an organic feel, or add other contemporary pieces for a modern feel. All told, it’s a great piece that would make a great centerpiece for any living room or den.
